Job Title:                Behavior Specialist

Location(s):           Selma, Wilson

Reports to:            Campus Director

Hours:                    8-2 (30 hours per week)

Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or human services; Experience working with individuals with special needs and behavioral issues

 

Job Duties:

  1. Must have an understanding of behavioral characteristics associated with behavior disorders, autism, intellectual disabilities, and other behavior issues.

  2. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with parents and education professionals.

  3. Has a basic understanding of instructional methods and education curriculum.

  4. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.

  5. Must be able to handle emotionally charged situations.

  6. Has the ability to train other people to apply behavior management techniques effectively.

  7. Has knowledge of and knows how to work with various support systems that are available in a community.

 

Job Title:                K-8 Special Education English/Reading Teacher

Location(s):           Selma, Wilson

Reports to:            Campus Director

Hours:                   8-2 (Full time hours per week)
Salary:                   TBD

Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in English/Literature, Experience working with individuals with special needs and behavioral issues. 

Document student progress and communicate with parents to keep them informed. Help lead to create lesson plans.

Comply with state, school, and class rules and regulations. Attend all training classes, parent conferences, and faculty meetings.  Must have exceptional leadership skills; Must have excellent communication skills.

 

Job Duties:

  1. Execute individual education plans for each of the students in your care

  2. Communicate with other staff and family members about each student’s progress and struggles

  3. Prepare detailed lesson plans

  4. Participate in IEP (individual education plan) meetings as scheduled by the school

  5. Use individualized reinforcement techniques to keep each student on the path toward greatness

  6. Invite family members to participate in each student’s educational progress

  7. Create and distribute progress reports quarterly

  8. Confer with on-site therapist over disciplinary and behavioral issues with students

  9. Create a safe, productive classroom environment

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in applied Math/Statistic etc., Experience working with individuals with special needs and behavioral issues; Document student progress and communicate with parents to keep them informed. Help lead to create lesson plans.

High School Diploma or Associate’s degree in psychology, social work or human services; Experience working with individuals with special needs and behavioral issues; Understand the fundamentals of the game of basketball; Be in good physical condition; Have the ability to motivate players to reach their potential; Must have exceptional leadership skills; Must have excellent communication skills.
